How to load a program onto a Casio PCR-T285, PCR-T295 or SE-S100 from an SD card
Applies to a program file from PV ECR Tool or from Casio's old ECR Setting Tool. About ten minutes.
What you need
- A full-size SD or SDHC card, 2 GB to 32 GB, class 4 or faster, formatted FAT32. Casio's documentation says mini and micro cards are not supported; a micro card in an adapter is a gamble. A cheap 8 GB card is ideal.
- A computer with an SD slot or a USB card reader.
- The program zip from the tool. It contains
CASIO/SES100/AUTOPGM/FILE092P.092and a HOW-TO-LOAD.txt with these same steps.
Before you load: back up and clear
- Run a Z report. Loading replaces the whole program (keys, PLUs, taxes, message, settings). Turn the mode switch to Z and print the daily reset report so no sales are sitting in the day's totals.
- Back up the current program (optional but wise). With the card in the slot, PGM mode: press M, SUBTOTAL, type 4114, SUBTOTAL, CASH. The display shows "SD Backup", the till writes its own
FILE092P.092to the card. Copy that file somewhere safe before you overwrite it with the new one.
Loading the program
- Unzip the download. Copy the CASIO folder to the top level of the SD card. The card must end up with
\CASIO\SES100\AUTOPGM\FILE092P.092: not inside another folder, not renamed. - Eject the card properly and put it in the register's SD slot (under the cover on the front or side, depending on the model).
- Turn the mode switch to PGM.
- Press M (the key marked with × and the date/time symbol), then SUBTOTAL.
- Type 4 1 0 4, then SUBTOTAL. The display shows SD Restore YES:<CA>.
- Press CASH. The display shows PLEASE WAIT and the file name while it reads.
- The register prints Data Restore Normal End. Turn the switch to REG and ring a test sale on each key you changed. Check a receipt for the message or logo and the tax lines.
The HELP key on the register prints the same restore steps as its item 14, in case you're at the counter without this page.
If something goes wrong
| What you see | Cause and fix |
|---|---|
| Error, no file, or the display goes back to PGM | The file isn't where the till looks. Check the exact path and that the folder names are upper case; re-copy the CASIO folder to the card's root. |
| The card isn't recognised at all | Card too large (over 32 GB), formatted exFAT, or a micro card in an adapter. Reformat as FAT32 on the computer, or use a smaller card. |
| Keys ring the wrong price | Check whether your prices were typed tax-in or tax-out in the tool; the register stores before-tax prices and adds add-on taxes at the total. |
| A key won't ring at $0.00 | The register refuses zero prices. The tool writes a named $0.00 key as $0.01 with an open price so it still works; the cents show on the Z report. |
| Data Restore Normal End but the logo didn't change | The receipt message is still set to text. In the tool's Receipt & logo tab choose "A graphic logo" and rebuild. |
Reading the register's sales on a computer
The same card can carry sales out. In the tool's Settings tab, "Save to the SD card: after every Z report" makes the register write its journal and sales totals to CASIO/SES100/XZ/ as text and CSV files each time you run a Z report.
